Heater duty range

A 25–50% example means heating for 6–12 hours in a day. Measure your own use if possible; room temperature and the setup change it.

The heater creates the biggest uncertainty.

A thermostat cycles rather than drawing full power every hour. Label watts show the load when it is heating. The amount of time it runs depends on room temperature, your chosen water temperature, the lid, circulation and heat loss.

Leave the estimate as a range until you have a measurement. For a reliable personal figure, use a suitable electricity meter according to its instructions while keeping all connections dry. Do not use this calculator to size an outlet, extension cable or circuit.
