Aqueon Betta Filter

Aqueon makes it for betta bowls and aquariums up to 3 US gal; it needs an air pump, sold separately.

Aqueon’s small air-driven filter for betta bowls and tanks up to 3 gallons, hidden behind a natural-looking plant decoration. Air from a pump lifts water through a replaceable carbon and sponge cartridge, and the bubbles add oxygen.

Consider: Gentle air-driven flow for a betta, but it needs an air pump, sold separately, and Aqueon makes it only for bowls and tanks up to 3 gallons.

Before choosing this model

  • Add an air pump: Aqueon suggests its QuietFlow Air Pump 10. The tubing, check valve and air valve are already in the box.
  • Use the air valve to slow the bubbles if the betta is pushed around.

What Aqueon doesn’t publish

  • Aqueon doesn’t publish a flow rate or the filter’s size. Don’t compare its flow with a model that has published figures.

A filter rated for your tank can still be too tall for your cabinet or too strong for small fish: see how to choose one.
