Manufacturer-rated for 40–70 US gal aquariums.

Mid-size external filter with distinct pump-output and in-system circulation ratings.

Specifications checked with the manufacturer on 2026-09-07.

Consider: A cabinet that fits the body can still leave too little hose or service room. Measure the full route and removal space before choosing this larger canister.

Pump output, filter circulation and maximum flow describe different test conditions. These figures do not establish the flow in your installed aquarium.

Before choosing this model

  • Measure cabinet height, door opening, and hose route.
  • Use the circulation figure for like-for-like flow comparisons.

Read the equipment selection guide alongside these model details. A rated capacity does not settle livestock needs, room conditions or physical clearance.

Choose and care for mechanical, biological and chemical media before buying replacement supplies.

07 Series service checks

Use the linked manual’s isolation and reassembly sequence before opening this filter. These checks do not establish the cause of a fault.

Reduced flow
Inspect and clean the intake strainer, hoses, impeller and impeller well as directed in manual page EN-3. Debris buildup can restrict the water path.
No flow after servicing
Check the AquaStop locking and opening sequence on EN-9. If the hose vacuum was lost, follow the manual’s priming procedure.
Seal deterioration or leakage
Follow the motor-head gasket inspection and replacement instructions. Use only the specified silicone lubricant; an improvised seal repair is not a substitute.
Persistent unusual noise or unresolved fault
Use Fluval’s support route with the exact model and observed symptoms. Do not operate a damaged unit or attempt electrical repairs.
