hygger 957 Planted Aquarium Light 72W

Sized by hygger for tanks 48–55 in long; 72 W.

Full-spectrum planted-tank LED with 140 white (6500 K), 23 blue, 12 red, 11 green and 62 RGB LEDs, on a built-in 24-hour timer that ramps up at sunrise and down at sunset over 15 minutes and turns blue for the evening.

Consider: Plug it in, set the clock and it runs the day on its own: full-spectrum light from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, then blue until 11:30 pm. For less than full brightness use the DIY mode, since the standard mode goes back to 100% each day.

Before choosing this model

  • Measure the tank’s length: this is hygger’s longest size, for tanks 48 to 55 in long. There is no size for tanks 42 to 48 in long.
  • Keep it above the water: it is sealed against splashes (IP68), but hygger says never to submerge it.

What hygger doesn’t publish

  • hygger gives this size a PAR of 420.1 but not the depth it was measured at, so it can’t be set against Fluval’s figures, which are measured at stated depths.
  • hygger doesn’t publish the fixture’s own length, width and height, or the adapter’s output.

A light that spans your tank can still be too weak for demanding plants: see how to choose one.
