hygger Cleanness Hang On Filter 5.5W
hygger recommends it for rimless aquariums 10–20 US gal with glass 0.2 to 0.59 in (5 to 15 mm) thick; 132 GPH.
A small hang-on filter for rimless tanks: its pump lifts the water through a sponge with activated carbon and biochemical cotton and pours it back as a little waterfall that adds oxygen. A knob sets the flow, and a skimmer basket on the intake takes the oily film off the surface.
Consider: Quiet (hygger gives 35 dB or less) and light on power, but it is made for rimless tanks only: the plastic frame of a rimmed tank won’t take it.

Pump output, filter circulation and maximum flow are measured in different ways. Your filter will move less water than the box says once media and hoses are in. Measure it with the flow calculator.
Before choosing this model
- Check the tank has no frame: hygger makes this size for rimless glass 0.2 to 0.59 in (5 to 15 mm) thick.
- Fill it with water before you plug it in, with the tank’s water at or above the skimmer’s inlet; it clears its air and starts pumping within a minute or two.
A filter rated for your tank can still be too tall for your cabinet or too strong for small fish: see how to choose one.
